Flutist Jeffery Zook and guitarist Bret Hoag present a collection of repertoire from around the world in a concert titled Toward the Sea. Jeff and Bret,
who began their collaboration in 2010, have performed throughout the midwest to critical acclaim. As Chris Felcyn from Detroit’s WRCJ has
said about this Duo: “It’s astonishing to hear so much music come out of such a small ensemble, but then you realize the caliber
of the musicians you’re listening to with Bret Hoag and Jeff Zook, and you just start smiling.” Come hear this duo as they explore fresh new
sounds for flute and guitar. In addition to performing new music for flute and guitar, Jeff and Bret are both on faculty of the Oakland
University, where they hope to inspire the next generation of chamber musicians.

The New Verse Chamber Ensemble will be playing masterworks from the string quintet literature by
Mozart and Brahms. Players will include top notch musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra,
Michigan Opera Theater, and the Ann Arbor and Flint Symphony Orchestras. It is sure to be a synergetic
event that can only be experienced live.

you with a delightful program spanning three centuries, including works by Leclair, Beethoven and Debussy.

This duo piano recital by classical pianists Julia Mortyakova and Valentin Bogdan is centered around solo and piano four hand works by composers who have called Vienna home. Timeless
masterpieces such as Franz Schubert’s Impromptus Op. 90 and the Fantasy in F minor will be performed, in addition to other works by composers significant to the Viennese cultural scene.
